Canine games will be played Friday at Peaceable Paws dog training center in Fairplay, starting at 7 p.m.
The center is at 17816 Spielman Road.
The games will include tennis ball catch, find it and musical sits.
First-, second- and third-place winners in each game earn points toward the canine games championship. All dog-and-human-friendly dogs are welcome. Positive training tools and handling only, please.
The event costs $10 per dog for the evening, and $5 goes to the Humane Society of Washington County. Ribbons and prizes are awarded for each event. You do not need to register in advance to play.

5K run/walk set March 12
On Saturday March 12, the Washington County Recreation Department will host a St. Patties Day 5K Run/Walk at Martin "Marty" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway.
The run/walk will be a 3.1-mile loop course, closed to traffic from 8:50 a.m. until the end of the race.
The event starts at 9 a.m. with race-day registration/packet pickup from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. Registration received by March 11 costs $20. Race day registration will cost $25. For registration forms, call 240-313-2805 or e-mail Marsha at email@example.com.
The first 200 registrants are guaranteed a T-shirt. Awards will be presented as follows: male and female champions as well as each male and female age-group winner.
The awards ceremony will be held after the event at 10:45 a.m.

Please note: the Senior Center follows the Washington County Public Schools schedule for delayed openings and closures due to inclement weather.
The gym is open from 9 to 10 a.m. for walking. Free coffee, tea, and iced water will be available.
