Armed robbery reported at Chambersburg gas station

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for two armed men who robbed RG’s gas station at 1410 Duron Drive in Chambersburg, Pa., and tied up an employee Monday evening.

A store employee told police he was taking out trash at about 6:42 p.m. when two men rushed him and tied his hands and feet, according to a state police press release. One of the men had a knife and the other had a gun.

Police said the two men fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Woman injured when struck by car on I-70

A woman was taken to Meritus Medical Center after she was struck by a car that did not stop Saturday night on Interstate 70 near Myersville, Md., Maryland State Police said.

Ashley Staley, 25, of Frederick, Md., was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries to her left arm and leg, according to a state police press release.

Staley was listed in good condition Tuesday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Staley and her passenger, Arnold Martin III, of Martinsburg, W.Va., were stopped on the side of the road changing a tire at about 11:56 p.m., when a westbound vehicle struck her, troopers said.

State troopers from the Hagerstown barrack waited on I-70 for the vehicle, which was described as a dark-colored Ford Crown Victoria, but were unable to locate it, the release said.

Theft cases reported in Washington County

The following incidents were reported by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:


  • Money was stolen from a vehicle in the 13900 block of McIntosh Circle in Clear Spring.
  • Tools were stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Dual Place.

Oct. 25 to Jan. 29

  • Money was stolen from 565 Premium Outlets Blvd.
