BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Nannie Mary Michael, age 95, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at The Extended Care Facility of War Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1915, in the Old Factory Section of Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Walter and Ottie Pleasant Blanche Shade Michael.
She attended Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.
She attended the Old Factory and Waterview Schools.
Nannie worked seasonally at the Luther Michael and A.C. Unger canneries.
She was a homemaker, an avid reader, and enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing and canning.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Ann Everett and her husband, Dennis, of Berkeley Springs; five sisters, Viola Mae Michael of Martinsburg, Emily Frances Miner of Hagerstown, and Esther Helen Riley-Robertson, Blanche Jeanette McCarty and Carrie Ellen Michael, all of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Charles Edward Michael of Berkeley Springs; two granddaughters, Lisa Michelle Stringer and her husband, Bill, of Vernal, Utah, and Rita Ann Goss and her husband, Doug, of Montclair, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Daniel Cameron Goss of Marietta, Ga., Lucas William Goss and Kyle Dennis Goss, both of Montclair, and Kylie Michelle Stringer and Matthew William Stringer, both of Vernal; and many nieces and nephews.
