Bayrunner Shuttle

FREDERICK, Md. — Bayrunner Shuttle has announced  expanded service to several communities in central and Western Maryland.

As a recipient of a Federal Transit Administration grant, Bayrunner is now serving Grantsville, Frostburg, Cumberland, Hancock, Hagerstown and Frederick with daily round-trip service to Baltimore.

In Baltimore, the shuttle stops at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, the BWI Amtrak station, and the Greyhound Bus Terminal in downtown Baltimore. The intercity route is being served with 15 passenger Chevy Express vans.

In addition to the two round -trips between Grantsville and Baltimore, Bayrunner is providing Frederick area residents with two additional daily trips to Baltimore and BWI, for a total of four daily rounds-trips.

The company anticipates expanding this frequency in the spring.

Callas Contractors Inc.

Callas Contractors Inc. has been awarded a contract by Hagerstown Community College for the addition of the Kepler Performing and Visual Arts Education Center.

The project includes renovation of the existing Kepler Theater and construction of a new 19,000-gross-square-foot addition for the Kepler Performing and Visual Arts Education Center.

Work began in December and is scheduled for completion at the end of November 2011.

The architect for the project is Cho Benn Holback and Associates Inc. of Baltimore.

Antietam Tree Service Inc.

Antietam Tree Service Inc., a commercial and residential tree-care company in Hagerstown, has been accredited under a new program administered by the Tree Care Industry Association.

The TCIA has a membership of more than 2,000 tree-care companies.

The new program represents the only business practices and compliance audit process in the tree-care industry. Businesses undergo an extensive review aimed at safeguarding consumers.

The annual renewal ensures that the company continues to employ trained professionals, is still properly insured and has a good safety and consumer satisfaction rating. The company is reaccredited every three years.

The management and staff of Ocker & Associates PC recently participated in a two-day seminar presented by Jennings Seminars.

The seminar focused on business entities, and highlighted tax changes and developments affecting corporations, S corporations and LLCs.
