Breakfast is Saturday  

Potomac Valley Fire Co. in the community of Dargan will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast Saturday at the fire hall.

Tickets cost $5. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and drinks. Children eat free. Breakfast will be canceled if the snow emergency plan is effect.

Ruritan plans basket bingo  

Keedysville Ruritan Club will hold a basket bingo Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Little Antietam Community Center on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $15, which includes 25 games. There will also be tip jars and a basket raffle (baskets will be filled).  Food will be available. Proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund and Washington County community service projects.

Cemetery panel to meet  

The members of the Fairview Cemetery Committee in Keedysville will hold a meeting Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Main Street in Keedysville. The public is invited to attend.

Sharpsburg Lions news  

Sharpsburg Lions Club will begin February activities with a sing-a-long (Feb. 10) at Fahrney-Keedy followed by a regular meeting in the den at the Parish Hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Feb. 17).

A zone meeting will be held at Boonsboro Legion (Feb. 23).  

The Sharpsburg Lions Club meets the first and third Thursdays at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St., Sharpsburg.

Teen Idol auditions  

Auditions for the Teen Idol 2011 contest will be held at Valley Mall (in front of the Bon-Ton) Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and at Port City Java at Long Meadow Shopping Center Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.  

The auditions are for those ages 15 to 19.  Finals will be held at The Maryland Theatre Saturday, March 26, at 7 p.m.

First prize is $1,000 and second prize is $500.  Prize money is generated from ticket sales.

Senior site news  

Jackie Willison will speak on "Jogging Your Memory" Friday, Feb. 11, at the Southeastern senior site in Keedysville.  Sandy Ferris conducts Young at Heart exercise classes Wednesdays.
