Sheriff's Office investigating armed robbery of pedestrian near Nursery Road

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery of a pedestrian Wednesday afternoon on Nursery Road near Hagerstown.

Deputies went to the dead end of Nursery Road after the robbery was reported at about 2:15 p.m., a  sheriff's office news release said.

The victim, whose name was not released, told investigators he was walking in the area of the railroad tracks between Nursery Road and Massey Boulevard when he was approached by two males, the release said.

One of the males pulled a handgun from his waistband and demanded money, the release said. The victim gave the males an undisclosed amount of cash.

They were last seen heading south on Nursery Road in the area of Halfway Manor, the release said.

The suspects were described as black and in their late teens to early 20s. One was wearing a flannel jacket, jeans and a skullcap, and the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, the release said.
