Police looking into burglaries

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro police Monday released information about several burglaries on Commerce Street last Thursday.

In one, the items stolen were a $2 bill, class ring and three condoms, police said.

Police released information about three burglaries in the 300 block. One involved a break-in in the home and the other two in the shed.

Cash, pot seized from W.Va. home

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Police seized more than $3,000 in cash and eight marijuana plants from a Bunker Hill, W.Va., residence on Tuesday, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Michael Scott Hutzler Jr., 30, of 897 Dollar Lane in Bunker Hill, was arraigned by Magistrate Harry L. Snow on one count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and one count of cultivating marijuana, according to court records.

West Virginia State Police troopers and members of the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force searched the residence about 1 p.m., according to a complaint by Trooper D.M. Hart.

The plants were found in a room that had been built in the home, court records state. A digital scale, multiple individual packages of marijuana and paraphernalia also were found, according to court records.

Auto accident, fires reported in Antrim Township

The following incidents were reported Tuesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

  • At 3:34 p.m., an auto accident in the 1590 block of State Line Road in Antrim Township.
  • At 5:31 p.m., a vehicle fire in a garage in the 500 block of Hilltop Circle in Antrim Township.
  • At 5:50 p.m., a chimney fire in the 2000 block of Lincoln Way West in Hamilton Township.
