Conrad Eugene Baker, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., died at his home on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.

Born Feb. 23, 1929, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Edna Martin Baker.

Conrad graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1947.

He was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

He was a lifetime member of Funkstown American Legion, where he served as past commander. He also was a member of the VFW and AMVETS.

He retired in 1994 from Mack Trucks, where he was employed for 33 years.

Conrad is survived by his daughter, Alice Sue, and husband, Buddy Decker, of Hagerstown; his son, Mark E. and wife, Sandie Baker, of Cataula, Ga.; his brother, Nelson Baker, of Hagerstown; and his grandchildren, Ami Decker, Kelli and Larry Guillard, Timothy and Ashley Decker, Douglas and Joshua Decker, all of Hagerstown, and Atlee Baker of Westminster, Md. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jack Guillard, and Bennett and Flora Decker; and many nieces and nephews. Also, a special friend, Brenda Doran of Hagerstown.

A memorial service will be held at the Funkstown American Legion at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
