Voters to choose mayor, two council members in Hancock

HANCOCK — The 1,112 registered voters in Hancock will be able to go to the polls Monday to elect a mayor and two council members, although the only names on the ballot are the incumbents. Daniel A. Murphy, the mayor since 1997, is running for another two-year term. Councilmen S. Sinclair Hamilton and Timothy W. Smith are running for re-election to another four-year term. Councilmen Nigel Dardar and Dennis Hudson are up for re-election in 2013. Polling at the Hancock Town Hall and Community Center, 126 W. High St., will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., said Virginia Stanley, the town’s account clerk.
