Irvin Franklin Golden, 89, of Hagerstown, Md., died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.
Born May 1, 1921, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Iva Belle Drury Golden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Elva Golden, who died March 10, 2008.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during WW II.
He was past commander and a lifetime member of American Legion, Post 42, Voiture 651 of the 40 and 8, life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Western Maryland Sportsmen's Club, as well as a member of Interstate Coin Club, Woodmen of the World and Antietam Amature Radio Club.
He is survived by two brothers, Lee E. Golden of Greencastle, Pa., Raymond E. "Jay" Golden of Clear Spring, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul M. Golden; and two sisters, Ethel Golden and Hilda Cameron.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral.
