Man faces charges after house is searched

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. Police charged a man with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and crack cocaine early Wednesday after they searched a suspected crack house at 43 Koncer Drive east of Martinsburg, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Dwayne Mitchell Freeman, 28, was in Eastern Regional Jail Wednesday night on a $100,000 bond set by Magistrate Jim Humphrey, according to court and jail records.

Upon entering the home, West Virginia State Police troopers, assisted by several Berkeley County Sheriff's deputies, found two digital scales, $1,000 in cash, eight paper packages containing methamphetamine and a small rock of crack cocaine, according to court records.

In a complaint filed in magistrate court, State Police Trooper C.S. Maynard said Freeman's criminal history included multiple convictions for distribution of cocaine in New York.

Two Pa. troopers treated after cruiser collides with a pickup

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were treated for minor injuries at Chambersburg Hospital Tuesday following a crash involving a cruiser, state police said in a news release Wednesday.

Troopers Alex Grote and Donald Beynon were responding to an in-progress domestic incident with the car's lights and sirens activated, police said.

They were traveling west on U.S. 30 when the 2010 cruiser was hit by a 2001 Chevrolet pickup that was northbound on Franklin Street, according to the  release.

The truck was driven by Estevan Ramirez, 43, of Chambersburg, police said.

The truck hit the cruiser on the driver's side, police said.

The accident is under investigation, police said.
