Connolly lifts Lions with triple-double

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Katie Connolly scored 11 of her game-high 29 points in the fourth quarter and finished with a triple-double with 11 rebounds and 10 steals Monday, leading Broadfording Christian Academy to a 52-45 come-from-behind victory over Saint James.

The Lions trailed 39-32 entering the fourth quarter, but outscored the Saints 20-6 the rest of the way.

The difference in the game was at the foul line, where Broadfording (6-12) connected on 26 of 34 free throws, including a 20 of 23 performance by Connolly. Saint James made only 13 of its 33 foul shots.

Margaret Bacon and Kayla Peterson each scored 12 points for the Saints (7-4).

HANCOCK — Maureen Leavy had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds and all but one Hancock player scored in the Panthers’ rout of Paw Paw.

Alisa Shives had 14 points and five assists, Tatum True had six steals and Leavy added four blocked shots for the Panthers (5-8).

Iver Silva had a game-high 22 points and added nine rebounds and six assists but Broadfording fell to Fort Hill (5-8).

Andrew Wyand had 16 points, including three 3-pointers, and Mo Sallah had 15 rebounds for the Lions (12-8).

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Ryan Harper had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Southern Fulton past Hyndman (3-9, 2-8) in the Sideling Hill League.

Harper also added three assists and five steals, J.C. Munson had 11 points, and Damon Gordon had nine points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Indians (12-1, 8-1).

Kishia Jackson had 14 points, including four 3-pointers, Yolanda Pinkcett had 13 points and three blocks, Tashia Caldwell had 10 points and Tiarra Rogers had six points, seven assists and seven steals for the Hawks (15-5), who dominated the glass with a 42-14 rebounding edge.
