Virginia Frances Blair, 83, of Golden Living Center and formerly of 200 E. Chestnut St., Funkstown, Md., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born July 30, 1927, in Spangler, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Anthony Joseph and Evelyn O’Conner Scalese.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She retired from Edgewood Hills Apartments in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis F. Blair.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Haynes and Jackie Pollard, both of Hagerstown, and Evelyn Lewis of Greensburg, Pa.; two sons, James Forberger and John Forberger, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Carmella Roser of Hagerstown and Rose Lamer of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Buffy Louise.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Forberger; and three brothers, Joseph Scalese, Paul Scalese and Pat Scalese.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ronald Faith will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
