Two hurt in 3-vehicle crash on eastbound I-70

Two people were taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown following a three-vehicle accident Monday morning on Interstate 70 on South Mountain, Maryland State Police said in a news release.

Troopers responded to the accident involving a tractor-trailer rig and two passenger vehicles at the 37-mile marker of I-70 at 9:26 a.m., the release said.

The two people taken to the hospital had non-life threatening injuries, police said. The tractor-trailer operator was not injured, according to the release.

All lanes of eastbound I-70 were closed for about 20 minutes following the accident, police said. All lanes had reopened by 10:15 a.m., after crews removed a vehicle that had left the roadway.
