Hempen Hill BBQ

Hempen Hill BBQ in Hagerstown has joined the "Farm-2-Fork" movement by bringing local produce into its kitchen.

Hempen Hill, at 13208 Fountain Head Plaza in the north end of Hagerstown, has partnered with Creekside Farm, at 13703 Kretsinger Road in Smithsburg, to bring fresh local foods to its menu.

"Because we are so blessed to live in an area chocked full of great local produce, it was only natural that we wanted to bring that richness into our business," Hempen Hill co-owner Kathy Reeder said.

Reeder said Hempen Hill chef Jason Vogel toured the farm and met with its owners to discuss what the farm could plant for the restaurant's use in the coming year.

"We are very excited to continue our partnership in 2011," Reeder said.
