Boy injured in ATV crash in critical condition

A boy who was injured Monday in an all-terrain vehicle accident in the 20600 block of Reno Monument Road was listed in critical condition Wednesday at Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The boy, whose name was not released by authorities because the accident occurred on private property, was a patient in the pediatric intensive care unit Wednesday morning, hospital spokeswoman Kim Hoppe said.

Morgan Boyd, chief of Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Inc., said Monday after the accident that the injured person was a priority one patient, which is the most serious injury designation.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office did not investigate the accident because it occurred on private property.

Ground wires stolen from poles near Cowans Gap

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Ground wires have been stolen off several utility poles along Richmond Road, Pennsylvania State Police said Wednesday.

State police said the wires were stolen sometime before Jan. 12.

The wires were stolen off poles on Richmond Road to Cowans Gap State Park, police said.

Valley Rural Electric was listed as the victim in the theft, police said.
