Ruth’s Sewing Room open

Ruth’s Sewing Room is now open at 416 S. Conococheague St., beside Leiters’ Fine Catering.

Owner Ruth Aikens said the shop specializes in custom sewing and alterations, quilt repair, military and motorcycle patches, and bridal and formal wear.

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Happy birthday to Ruth Anderson, who will be 93 years young on Thursday. She has been a Williamsport resident all her life.

Electrical Usage and Savings Workshop

Looking for ideas on how to conserve electrical consumption? An Electrical Usage and Savings Workshop will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Spectrum Fire Protection and the Town of Williamsport will be conducting the workshop in conjunction with the town’s revitalization efforts.

All residents are invited to attend. You do not need to register.

Angel Food distribution delayed until Jan. 29

Due to snow in the southern United States, Angel Food Ministries was unable to get food in time for distribution on Saturday. The pickup date has been changed to Saturday, Jan. 29.

Online ordering has been extended. Orders still can be placed online until Tuesday. Go to and follow the Angel Food links.

Shepherd’s Table changes serving hours

Beginning this week, the serving time for the Shepherd’s Table is changed. The meal will now be served from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

The Shepherd’s Table serves a free meal, prepared by the churches of the Williamsport Ministerium, each Thursday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St.
