Losses for the week for TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 totaled 60 3/4 pounds.
Everyone is trying to “hang on” to a new year of weight loss with Elsie’s “Hang On” contest.
The best TOPS losers were Kathy Freese and Jean Hart. The best KOPS losers were Dorothy Smith and Cindy Ryder. Valerie Eccard won the get-r-done prize and Betty Rice won the Ha! Ha! prize. Pie is the no-no snack of the week.

The monthly awards results were announced.  Seventy-six members weighed in and 33 had perfect attendance. Honored KOPS were Ryder, Deloris Hays and Mary Reid. Peggy Robinson and Carol LeClaire were first-place honored TOPS. Joan Jones and Dorothy Martin were runners-up.

Joan Gilbert has reached KOPS status. Gilbert has lost 30 pounds. Lu Marletta has lost 20 pounds and Carol MacDougall has lost 10.

Shining Stars for December were Sharron Twigg and Trudy Heather. Twigg followed up on her resolution/renovation program followed by an open discussion on successful weight-loss tips and techniques by the group.

The group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.

The TOPS 0446 chapter did not meet Jan. 12, due to weather conditions.  

The group meets Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road in Hagerstown. Weigh in from 8:45 to 9:20 a.m.

Senior center

The senior center needs greeters on Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Also, there are still some afternoons that need coverage (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).
The center is at 626 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.
