Counselors available at Brown's Mill to comfort mourning students

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Counselors and psychologists will be available Tuesday for Manito Brown’s Mill Center students mourning a classmate killed in a car accident Saturday.

Zackery Sease, 16, of Fayetteville, Pa., was thrown from a vehicle on Spring Road near Wilkson Lane in Guilford Township at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

He was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at York (Pa.) Hospital, according to a news release from Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner.

The other teenager thrown from the vehicle, Clifford Vankirk III, was listed in satisfactory condition at York Hospital on Monday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Chambersburg Area School District Assistant Superintendent Eric Michael said Zack and Cliff were students at the Brown’s Mill Center, an alternative-education school in Chambersburg.

Zack was in the 11th grade, Michael said.

“Our counselors and psychologist are aware and will be on call if needed at Brown’s Mill,” he wrote in an e-mail.

A Brown’s Mill staff member said most of the students did not have school Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A 911 Center supervisor said the emergency call was reported as a vehicle into a tree.
