  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day — Schools and Central Office closed


Tuesday, Jan. 18

  • Professional Learning Day — No school for students
  • Washington County Board of Education meeting, 6 p.m. (broadcast live on Antietam Cable Channel 99)
  • Old Forge Elementary — Good News Club, 2:30 to 4 p.m.


Wednesday, Jan. 19
  • E. Russell Hicks Middle — After-school academic program, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Funkstown Elementary — Vision and hearing rechecks
  • Northern Middle — Eighth-grade Family Life classes begin
  • Pleasant Valley Elementary — Make-A-Wish Foundation penny drive (through Jan. 26)
  • Potomac Heights Elementary — Yearbooks on sale (through Feb. 2)


Thursday, Jan. 20
  • Lunchtime Live Radio Show — WJEJ/1240 AM, 1:06 p.m.
  • Boonsboro Elementary — Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) meeting, 6 p.m.; Good News Club, 2:30 p.m.
