MONT ALTO, Pa. — A man is facing attempted homicide charges after allegedly shooting a man in the neck during a card game early Saturday in Franklin County, Pa., police said.

Calvin Teachey, 23, no address given, was being held in the Franklin County Jail Sunday on charges of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault and persons not to possess firearms, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Renard Hazelton, 22, was shot in the neck after an argument during a card game at 26 Beech St. in Mont Alto, police said. He was listed in critical condition Sunday at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., police said.

Witnesses told police that Hazelton was shot in the neck around 4:09 a.m. after two people in a mobile home were arguing, police said.

Beech Street is off Pa. 233 in the borough of Mont Alto.

No one else was injured, said Trooper Jason Cachara, the investigating officer.

Police said Teachey fled the scene after the shooting.

The shooting was reported by a third person in the mobile home, Cachara said. Cachara would not say how many people were in the mobile home at the time of the shooting.

The victim was not a resident of the mobile home, Cachara said.

Police said a .22-caliber pistol was used in the shooting.
