HCC to hold series of courses on Iceland literature

The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a series of courses titled "The Poetry, Myth and Religious Significance of Iceland's Medieval Eddic Literature."

 The first course, titled "The Prose or Younger Edda," will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The second course, titled "The Poetic or Elder Edda," will be held on Wednesday, March 16. The final course, titled "Norse Mythology and Religion— Past and Present," will be held on Wednesday, April 13. All courses will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon at HCC's Valley Mall Center. The instructor is Dr. Karen Gray.

 The cost is $25 for each course, plus a $5 registration fee. The fee for the entire series for senior citizens is $45. Courses may be purchased individually or as a series. To register or learn more, call HCC at 301-790-2800, ext. 236, or go to www.hagerstowncc.edu/coned.
