The Wolfes celebrate 50 years

G. Leroy "Bud" and Donna Wolfe of Greencastle, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows during a special service on Nov. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle. The service was performed by the Rev. William W. DeHass, the couple's pastor.

Organist Trevor Timmons provided the music. Approximately 100 family and friends attended the ceremony.

Mrs. Wolfe was escorted down the aisle by their son, David, who also was the best man for his father. Sarah Raye Wolfe, the couple's grandaughter, was maid of honor and her sister, Abigail Mae Wolfe, was flower girl. Granddaughter Elizabeth Nicole Cramer, presided over the guest book and distributed bulletins.

A surprise reception was given by their son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Stacie Wolfe, and their nieces, Sabine Nave, Cindy Zeger and Ramona Carlson at the Academy Theatre Banquet & Conference Center, Hagerstown. Applause Catering provided food, and Dustin Bingaman, nephew of the couple, provided music for dancing.

The couple were married on Nov. 4, 1960, in Hagerstown, by the Rev. Frank G. Mentzer, who is now deceased.

Mr. Wolfe is the son of the late Gilbert F. and Evelyn (Baylor) Wolfe. Mrs. Wolfe is the daughter of the late Charles and Sara (Tice) Freshman.

Mr. Wolfe retired from Mack Trucks in December 1999 with 37 years of service. Mrs. Wolfe retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Employer Tax Operations in March 2000 with 40 years of service.
