Hagerstown solicits business owners' ideas

January 13, 2011

The City of Hagerstown invites businesses located within corporate limits to attend a focus group meeting from 5:15 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Gourmet Goat in downtown Hagerstown.

The purpose of the meeting is to give downtown business owners and people considering starting downtown businesses  a chance to meet over a light dinner with city officials.

Hagerstown’s Development Funding Specialist Kathy Saxman said she wanted to get ideas from downtown business owners on the kind of services they need to succeed.

Saxman said the city is considering developing a small-business incubator in the former CVS building at 60 W. Washington St., in downtown Hagerstown and needs to know which services business owners feel they need.

Businesses desiring to attend must register by 4 p.m. today. Soup and salad will be provided.

To register or to get more information, call 301-766-4041 or go to www.hagerstownmd.org/focusgroupform.asp.
