Washington County sheriff hosts citizens police academy

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will host a Citizen’s Police Academy on Tuesdays beginning March 8.

The program will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for 11 Tuesdays — through May 17 — with two Saturday sessions of practical instruction.

Hands-on activities will include exercises using the Firearms Training Simulator and training in citizen’s emergency response techniques. Classes will be held at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.
