CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Kathryn K. Horsfall, 88, a resident of Penn Hall Nursing Center, Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of Lemar Road, Lemasters, Pa., died at 10:19 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 in the nursing center.

Born March 8, 1922 in Vaucluse, Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Everett D. and Mamie E. (Cornwell) Kline.  She was the wife of the late John B. Horsfall, who died on Nov. 7, 1991.
Mrs. Horsfall was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Upper West Conococheague, Mercersburg, Pa., and was elected an elder in 1990.
She was a graduate with the John Handley High School Class of 1940 in Winchester, Va.
Volunteer work was high on her list of priorities, whether it was in the private sector or as a military dependent. In her earlier years, Mrs. Horsfall served as president of the Mercersburg American Field Service Chapter, where, along with her husband, she had served as host parent for several exchange students. Previously, she was an assistant manager of the Franklin County Fair. She was a member of the Lemasters Homemakers and Mercersburg Women’s Club.

Surviving family is one brother, Everett H. Kline of Manassas, Va.; goddaughter, Kathi Woods of Walnut Grove, Calif.; several nieces and nephews and a special exchange student, Katrien Couvreur of Belgium.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred L. Harris and Marie Schleisner-Meyer.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. from the Rosedale Cemetery, 917 Cemetery Road, Martinsburg, W.Va., with the Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Presbyterian Church of the Upper West Conococheague, 34 W. Seminary St., Mercersburg PA 17236.
Arrangements are being handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, Pa.
