Feb. 10 and 24 —  Poultry 101, 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Washington County Extension office, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro. Call 301-791-1304 to register. Space is limited and registration is required. A $5 fee will be collected at the door. Attendance at both sessions is encouraged.


March 10 and 24 — Soil fertility, 7 to 9 p.m., at Washington County Extension office, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike. Topics during the two sessions will be soil characteristics, soil composition, soil testing and fertilizer use. The fee for the class is $15, which includes soil testing. Registration and fee are due in advance in order to make arrangements for soil testing and to insure results from your soil test are available for class.

To reach the Washington County Extension office, drive about seven miles south of Hagerstown from the I-70 exit onto Sharpsburg Pike.

The office is in the Washington County Agricultural Education Center complex.

The Franklin County, Pa., Extension office is at 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg.

From Hagerstown, take Interstate 81 north to the U.S. 30 east exit. Take the first road to the left, which is Franklin Farm Lane.
