Did you know?

Did you know that people traveling the old National Pike would stay at numerous overnight stops along the road? These stops held many different names, such as tavern, inn, hotel, hostelry and stage-stop. The overnight stops sold food and drinks and fed the horses. The travelers got “sleeping space” until all the beds were filled to capacity and then they got “floor space.”
