Chambersburg drops Mid-Penn battle to Bishop McDevitt

BOYS BASKETBALL

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Bishop McDevitt had a big second quarter that was too much for Chambersburg to overcome down the stretch, as the Trojans lost the Mid-Penn Commonwealth battle 57-53 on Monday night.

The Crusaders (8-3, 4-2) took a 32-25 halftime lead by outscoring the Trojans 22-12 in the second quarter. Chambersburg fell short in its fourth-quarter rally.

Kayone Teal scored 15 points for Chambersburg (7-4, 3-3) and Skyler Roman added 11.

Aaron DeVan led McDevitt with 24 points, hitting six 3-pointers.

Shelby Fayak added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Carrie Saunders scored 14 points for the Rams (9-4, 7-2). Jerica Hewett, a Boonsboro graduate, had 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Hole-in-one

Larry Lowman, of Williamsport, had a successful trip recently to Myrtle Beach, N.C., whre he scored an ace.

Playing on the Fazio Course at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, Lowman used a 5-wood on the 155-yard 16th hole. He was playing with Joe Florimonte, Tom Eisenhauer and Dave Galloway.
