Police seek information about vehicle crash
Maryland State Police are seeking information from the public about a vehicle crash Friday in Hancock in which the driver apparently fled from the scene, authorities said.
The crash occurred when a Ford vehicle traveling north on Heavenly Acres Drive skidded off the road about 11:35 p.m., and struck a telephone junction box and a wooden pole, state police said.

It is believed the driver fled toward Pennsylvania, state police said.
Numerous parts of the vehicle’s grill were found on the ground, and the vehicle should have heavy damage on its front, state police said.

Pa. house destroyed in Sunday blaze
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A house fire was reported at 6723 Edensville Cheesetown Road at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services.
The two-story house is basically uninhabitable because of the fire, said Adam McNew, deputy chief of the St. Thomas Volunteer Fire Department.
McNew said he believes people have been living in the home but no one was there when the fire started.
It is unclear what started the blaze, McNew said.
The St. Thomas Fire Department was assisted by about nine other departments, officials said.
No one was injured, officials said.
