WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Paul Edward Kuhlman, 87, of 961 Park St., Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at his home.

Born Tuesday, March 13, 1923, in Frostburg, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Raymond Kuhlman and Eva Williams Kuhlman; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nola Lee Kuhlman, in 1998.

He graduated from LaSalle High School in Cumberland, Md., in 1941, and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with the Mid-Atlantic Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Silver Spring, Md., retiring in 1982 after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, B.P.O. Elks 378, VFW Post 695 Waynesboro and Funkstown American Legion Post 211.

He is survived by his second wife of nine years, Madalyn Kuhlman; one daughter, Susan E. Gordon of Columbia, Md.; two sons, Richard L. Kuhlman of Germantown, Md. and Eddie Kuhlman of Poolesville, Md.; a twin brother, Robert George Kuhlman of Hagerstown, Md.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Joseph Kuhlman.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at 10 a.m. at  St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. George A. Limmer as celebrant.

Family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10.

Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
