Court Appointed Special Advocates seeks volunteers

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Washington County will conduct a spring 2011 training program for anyone interested in volunteering to serve as advocates for children under the court's jurisdiction as the result of adjudicated cases of child abuse or neglect in Washington County.

Advocates will review case files, conduct interviews and provide recommendations of care and services to the courts

The eight-week training program will be conducted in two concurrent schedules: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 23 to April 13 and 9 to 11: 30 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 26 to April 16.

Participants can choose either the Wednesday or the Saturday session, but not both.  

Training sessions will be held at the Washington County Health Department; Addictions and Mental Health Services Unit, 13114 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
