Mercersburg Family Medicine
MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Dr. Pierre Turchi has joined Mercersburg Family Medicine, an affiliate of Summit Health, at 2 Keefer Drive in Mercersburg.

Turchi, who practiced medicine in St. Thomas, Pa., for more than 27 years, joins Drs. W. David Kent and Timothy Owolabi, and certified Physician Assistant Heather Wolfe.

The practice’s services include newborn visits, well baby exams, immunizations, health maintenance examinations, physicals, and care of acute and chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma.

Employees receiving tenure awards were:

  • 20 years — Tim Palkovitz, president

Waynesboro Area YMCA

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Melissa Leaper, fitness coordinator at Waynesboro Area YMCA, recently was recognized as one of the “Friendliest People in Town.”

The recognition is earned after the completion of at least six 90-minute classes in the “Friendliest Place in Town” customer service training series.

Leaper, who began working at the YMCA in 2007, completed the following classes: The “C” in the YMCA, Remembering Names, Getting Along with Others, Uncustomary Customer Service, How to Handle Angry People and How to Lead with Kindness and Confidence.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA
GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Scott Palmer and Todd Crawford were recognized as agents of the month for November in the Greencastle office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA.

The award is given based on the number of listings taken, sales made and closed sales, as well as attendance at Realtor functions and completion of continuing education classes.

Palmer was recognized in the five years and over business category. He has sold real estate for 24 years and is an associate broker.  

Crawford was recognized in the five years and under business category. He has more than 20 years of business and sales experience and is licensed to sell all types of real estate in Pennsylvania.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Matt Gunder, Karen Stewart and Joan Sidoli were recognized as top sales professionals for November in the Waynesboro office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA.

The recognition is based on the number of new listings, sales and referrals; attendance at real estate meetings and workshops; and customer satisfaction reports.

Gunder is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, and focuses on residential sales and working with first-time homebuyers.

Stewart and Sidoli work as a team, with primary service areas in Franklin and Adams counties. They also are licensed in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.
