Md. tourism award presented to Antietam's Howard

SHARPSBURG — Recently retired Antietam National Battlefield Superintendent John Howard was honored with a special Judges Award for Best Tourism Partner in the state at the Maryland Tourism Council and Maryland Destination Marketing Organizations’ Awards Banquet.

He received the award at the 30th annual Maryland Tourism and Travel Summit, which was held Nov. 3 to 5 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel.

Howard served as park superintendent at Antietam for 15 years before retiring at the end of 2010.
