MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Myrtle Annabelle Griffith, 88, of Martinsburg, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at her home.

She had been under the wonderful care of hospice for over a year.

Born Dec. 22, 1922, in Rippon, W.Va., she was the daughter the late Edward Lee and Effie Lee (Mills) Boyd.

She was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Mason” Griffith, whom she married Sept. 2, 1939; three brothers, Hayward, Kenneth and Stanley Boyd; and seven sisters, Ada Singhas, Blanche Boyd, Nellie Tomlin, Stella Mills, Minzille “Minnie” Singhas, Martha Drish and Margie Grove.

She will be sadly missed by a son, William “Bill” Griffith of Martinsburg; a daughter, Joan Cain of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Cain, and Michelle Compton; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Friends will be received Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church, 2251 Williamsport Pike, Martinsburg, with Dr. Jeff Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
