Train hits car in Pa.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A vehicle crash involving a train occurred on Alleman Road Monday afternoon in Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said Carmen Chavez-Lozoya, 31, the driver of a Ford Explorer, did not completely stop at a stop sign before crossing railroad tracks.
Chavez-Lozoya started to cross the tracks about 1:30 p.m. while a train was traveling south on the tracks, state police said.
The operator of the train pulled an emergency brake when he saw the Explorer, but he could not stop the train before impact, state police said.
Chavez-Lozoya and a 3-year-old female in the Explorer suffered minor injuries, state police said. Another passenger in the vehicle was not hurt.
Cash stolen from vehicles
GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Wallets and cash were stolen from multiple vehicles on Joy Drive, Dallas Drive and Daybreak Lane in Antrim Township over the weekend, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Access was gained to the vehicles by breaking windows, state police said.
The thefts occurred between 1 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, state police said.
