Fire damages row house in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT — Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a two-story row house Sunday at 28 N. Vermont St. in Williamsport.

The fire, which started at about 3:20 a.m. on the front porch, caused roughly $300 in damages, according to a news release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The fire marshal’s office said it took 28 firefighters about five minutes to control the fire.

Firefighters from Williamsport, Halfway, Funkstown and Clear Spring responded to the scene, the release said.
