SUMTER, S.C. — Floyd Nelson Hornbaker, 84, husband of Gladys Yates Hornbaker, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at his home.
Born in Williamsport, Md., he was a son of the late Ralph Jacob Hornbaker and the late Mary Margaret Boppe Hornbaker.
Mr. Hornbaker was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from Vishay Intertechnologies.
Survivors besides his wife include three children, Keith C. Hornbaker (Noi) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Carol A. Williams (Richard) of Sumter, and James N. Hornbaker (Barbara) of Martinsburg, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eugene Hornbaker, Roger Hornbaker, Leo Hornbaker and Mary Jordan, all of Maryland; Rachel Daley of New York, and Frank Hornbaker of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Hornbaker.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
