McConnellsburg man charged with striking woman with sword

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — A McConnellsburg man has been charged with striking a woman with a sword at a Fulton County, Pa., home, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Michael Glen Baughman, 26, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person, state police said in a news release.

Police said the charges were filed in connection with an alleged incident Sunday at about 1:40 a.m. at a home in the 3200 block of Breezy Point Road.

A woman told officers she had been hit in the back and shoulder with a sword, punched several times in the head, and choked and pushed, police said.

Baughman was being held in Franklin County Prison on $40,000 bond, a prison official said Friday morning.
