NEW OXFORD, Pa. — Ralph A. Dinterman, 91, of New Oxford, formerly of Taneytown, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at the Brethren Home at Cross Keys in New Oxford.
Born Feb. 20, 1919, in Rocky Ridge, Frederick, County, Md., he was the son of the late Roy C. and Nettie (Stambaugh) Dinterman.
Ralph was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taneytown and was a retired U.S. government employee with the soil conservation service. Ralph was a broom maker at the Carroll County Farm Museum for many years.
He loved square dancing, playing cards and dominoes, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Joan S. Wilhide and husband, Wayne, of Keymar, Md., and Diana A. Keyser and husband, Brian, of Hagerstown; sister, Anna Belle Houck of Rocky Ridge; grandchildren, Kristina Athey, Tim Keyser, Marsha McNeil, Stephanie Savick, Steve Wilhide and Vincent Wilhide; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
