Pauline Elizabeth “Alice” Rowe, 94, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at the Somerford Place, Hagerstown, Md.

Born Oct. 11, 1916, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late William A. and Belle M. (Burger) Burger. She was the wife of the late Harry S. “Snub” Rowe who died Oct. 23, 1997.

Alice was a life member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hagerstown and the Washington County Homemakers where she participated on the bowling team.

Alice is survived by a brother, Richard Burger; two grandchildren, Michael E. Rowe and Michelle B. Wenck; four great-grandchildren and eight nieces; six nephews; and two special nieces, Ruth L. Grove and Bonnie Bowers.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Rowe and Harry “Butch” Rowe; seven sisters; and five brothers.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Fr. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Christian Wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
