Victim critical in Frederick stabbing

FREDERICK — A man has been charged with stabbing another male several times in Frederick on Friday, police said. The victim, who was not identified, was listed in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Frederick Police said in a news release on Saturday. Justin David Freeland, 27, of Beaver Creek Lane, Frederick, is accused of stabbing the male, police said. The victim was found with “a large number of stab wounds to the torso and extremities” and ???bleeding profusely??? in a yard on Beaver Creek Lane at about 8:20 p.m. on Friday, according to the news release. Nearby residents reported a man matching Freeland’s description later knocking on doors and trying to force his way in, police said. Freeland was found and captured outside a home on Ashfield Court, the news release said. Freeland also was injured in the altercation. Police said he was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment, then taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree burglary and reckless endangerment, according to the release.
