Man robs Martinsburg Pizza Hut

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —  Authorities were looking Wednesday for a man who robbed the Pizza Hut restaurant at 1309 Courthouse Square in Martinsburg, the Martinsburg Police Department said in a news release.

No one was hurt in the robbery, which was reported at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Police were told that a store employee who was opening the business was followed inside by the robber, according to the news release.

The employee told the man he could not be in the restaurant because it wasn't yet open for customers, police said.

The robber told an employee he had a firearm, demanded money and took an undisclosed amount, but no weapon was displayed, police said.


The robber left through a back door and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The robber was described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s. He was about 6 feet tall with scruffy facial hair and was wearing a dark knit hat, black gloves and a blue jacket, according to police.
