Christmas Eve services

Antietam Church of God, 4005 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Friday.

Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, 20402 Beaver Creek Road, a Christmas Eve candlelight service with communion will begin at 11 p.m. Friday. Erin Gaines, Deb IntVeldt and Adam Lane, with Judah and Lydia Ickes, will present special music.

Blair's Valley First Church of God, A Christmas Eve children's program will be at 6 p.m. Friday.

Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Pastor Len Smith will speak on the topic, Shining Stars at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service Friday. There will be Christmas carols, music by the choir and a handbells duet.

Christ Community Church, 8916 Mapleville Road, Hagerstown, Pastor Rich Carr will share the message, A Look at the People Surrounding the Birth of Christ, at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service Friday. There will be Christmas songs and special music.

Christ Lutheran Church, A Little Christians Christmas Eve service just for kids will be at 7 p.m. Friday. Special music presentations will begin at 10:30 p.m., followed by a candlelight service with communion at 11 p.m.

Christ Reformed Church, UCC, 304 E. German St., Shepherdstown, W.Va., German reformed Christmas Eve service includes chanted scripture from the Gospel of Luke, communion, music and favorite carols at 5:45 p.m. Friday.

Christ Reformed UCC, Sharpsburg, Pastor Delancy Catlett will lead the congregation at 7 p.m. candlelight Christmas Eve communion service Friday. Ross Semler will provide special music.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, a Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 10 p.m. Friday.

Concordia Lutheran Church, the Rev. Emil Gretarsson will lead the 5:30 p.m. community and family Christmas Eve service Friday. Gretarsson will speak on the topic, I'm Getting Nothing for Christmas? at the 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve traditional candlelight service with communion Friday.

Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Christmas Eve candlelight and carol service at 6 p.m. Friday.

Grace United Methodist Church, Christmas Eve service schedule includes: communion service with the sermon, Where's the Joy After the Baby is Born? at 2 p.m.; candlelight service with the sermon, You Tell Them and They Still Don't Get It!, and Pastor Clark Carr singing "Oh Holy Night" at 7 and 11 p.m. Friday.

Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, a Christmas Eve candlelight worship with story and song will be at 7 p.m. Friday. The service will include a monologue, Uncle Boaz Speaks.

Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 12624 Trinity Church Drive, Clear Spring, Christmas Eve service is at 7 p.m. with carols and candles. Christmas Day service begins at 9 a.m. with a birthday party for our Lord and Savior.

John Wesley United Methodist Church, Christmas Eve service at 7 and 11 p.m. A 30-minute choir prelude will precede the 11 p.m. service.

Manor Church of the Brethren, Boonsboro, a candlelight Christmas Eve service with communion will be at 7 p.m. Friday. The service will include nativity scriptures, readings, homily, children's story and more. Hot chocolate and cookies will follow the service.

Maranatha Brethren Church, a Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, 134 S. Main St., Boonsboro, family Christmas Eve service is at 7 p.m. Traditional candlelight Christmas Eve service is at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 14615 Fairview Church Road, Clear Spring, will hold a Christmas Eve family service at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mount Vernon Reformed UCC, 64 S. Main St., Keedysville, dogs and cats will be welcome at a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Friday. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. A special pet blessing will be offered during the service. Ross Semler will provide special music. Call 717-977-4232.

Potomac Charge, United Methodist churches of Big Pool, St. Paul's candlelight service will be at 9 p.m. Friday. Mount Carmel will celebrate Happy Birthday Jesus at 9 a.m. Saturday.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, the Rev. Mark Sandell will preach on the topic Welcome at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve communion service Friday. Special music will be shared at 6:45 p.m.

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Pastor Mike Henning will deliver the message, Good News of Great Joy at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service Friday. There will be special music and communion.

St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Ann Boyd will speak Christmas Eve at the 6 and 11 p.m. communion services Friday. The 6 p.m. service will include a Christmas pageant and children/youth choirs. The 11 p.m. service will be preceded at 10:30 p.m. with music featuring the Parish Choir, soloists, instrumentalists and Christmas carols. Boyd will speak Christmas Day at the 10 a.m. communion service, which will include congregational Christmas carols.

St. John's Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., Family Christmas Eve service with music by the Junior Choir will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday. A candlelight Christmas Eve service with special music will be at 10:30 p.m. Friday. Christmas Day service with communion begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 443 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, West Hagestown United Methodist Parish Christmas Eve service of carols, candles and communion at 7 p.m. Friday. Two choirs will participate.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 14106 National Pike, Clear Spring, will hold a Christmas Eve communion service at 9 p.m. Friday, Pastor Allen Reed will speak on the topic, Silent Night — Are You Kidding?

St. Paul's Free Lutheran Church of Leitersburg, Pastor Terry Culler will preach on the topic, The Word Made Flesh at the 9 p.m. Christmas Eve communion candlelight service Friday.

St. Paul's Reformed Church, east of Clear Spring, will hold a carols, candlelight and communion service at 7 p.m. Friday.

St. Peter's (Beard's) Lutheran Church, Old Forge Road, will hold its Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The topic will be, Hope in Darkness.

Salem Reformed Church,
Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, Christmas Eve service schedule includes carols and communion at 3:30 p.m.; children's service at 7 p.m. preceded by 30 minutes of musical offerings; and candlelight service at 11 p.m. with 30 minutes of music during the prelude.

Valley Assembly of God, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, a Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.

Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport, a family Christmas Eve service is at 7:30 p.m. Candlelight communion service is at 11 a.m. preceded by a musical prelude at 10:30 p.m.

Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, the Rev. Gerry Hanberry will speak at the 8 p.m. service of candles and carols on the topic, The Good News Gift of Christmas.
