Lenore Rose Ralls, 88, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing Center, Shrewsbury, Pa.
Born Oct. 29, 1922 in Roberts, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Harrison and Gertrude Ethel (Smith) Squires. She was the wife of the late Leroy Harry Ralls who died Sept. 6, 1991.
Lenore was a graduate of Roberts Township High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Urbana, Ill. Where she earned her registered nurse certificate. She was a community health nurse, retiring from the Washington County Health Department after 17 years of service.
Lenore's past memberships include the Washington Square United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, Md., the United Methodist Women and the Golden Rule Class. She was also a volunteer at the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, the American Red Cross Blood Mobile, and Friends of Reeder's Memorial Home Auxiliary, Boonsboro, Md.
She is survived by two sons, David L. Ralls of Baltimore, Md., and James L. Ralls of Parkton, Md.; one sister, Kathleen Bauer of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lenore was preceded in death by her daughter Katherine R. Bennett and a sister, Sara Mummert.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Her pastor, the Rev. Jerry L. Lowans, will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
