Man charged with with malicious wounding in stabbing

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A 51-year-old man is accused of stabbing a man in the back three times with a kitchen knife in an altercation Monday night, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Anthony J. McColl of 1272 Rock Cliff Drive, Martinsburg, was charged by West Virginia State Police Trooper T.W. Cook with malicious wounding, according to court records.

The altercation ensued after McColl's girlfriend's daughter and her boyfriend indicated they wanted to take a bath while the defendant was in bed, according to court records.

The defendant didn't want them to take the bath, according to court records.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office responds to incidents

The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the following incidents Monday, according to Sgt. Chris Weaver:

A utility trailer valued at $3,500 was reported stolen at South Atlantic Controls Inc., at 10226 Governor Lane Blvd. The trailer has a Maryland registration of 669723G. The trailer was reported stolen at 11:30 a.m.
About $1,500 worth of merchandise was stolen from various stores at Hagerstown Premium Outlets. Two individuals were involved in the thefts, which were reported at 8:47 p.m. The suspects were last observed shoplifting at the Ralph Lauren Polo store.
About $500 worth of merchandise was stolen from Toys R Us near Valley Mall. The theft, which was reported at 9:06 p.m., involved two individuals who pushed a shopping car full of merchandise out of the store. The suspects, two females, were riding in a four-door car with possible Maryland tags.

Car reported stolen in Frederick found in Waynesboro, Pa.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A car reported stolen in Frederick County, Md., was found in Waynesboro after it had been gutted, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

Police said they received a parking complaint Sunday from the Brethren Church on South Potomac Street. The Honda Civic they found only had a driver's seat, rear seat and steering wheel.

Frederick police requested the vehicle be impounded, the release said.

Laptop, digital camera stolen from unlocked vehicle
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A laptop computer and digital camera were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of Kristen Court, Waynesboro police said in a news release.

Police said they received the theft report Sunday. A second vehicle was entered, but nothing was stolen.

Copper pipes stolen from unoccupied homes
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro police said they have received information recently about copper pipes being stolen from unoccupied homes.

Pipes were cut from a home on West Third Street, as well a property in the 600 block of West Main Street, police said

The pipes were in the basements, police said.

Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Dept. seeks man wanted on charges of grand larceny

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department is seeking information about the whereabouts of a man wanted for grand larceny.

Chad Wayne Phillips, 28, of Martinsburg, is wanted on two counts of grand larceny, a sheriff's department news release said.

He is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

Phillips is accused of taking property belonging to Robert Cloud at least twice and scrapping it at a local scrap yard, the release said.

The property was valued at more than $1,000, the release said.

Phillips was last seen Dec. 13 in a 2007 black Ford truck, the release said.
