WILLIAMSPORT —  Elynor Marie Matkins, 89, a resident of Ravenwood Lutheran Village and formerly of Williamsport, Md., died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, Md.

Born July 17, 1921 in Shenandoah, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marcella Bolonis Yanchulis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Matkins, in 2000.

She was a 1937 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Shenandoah, Pa., and attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College.

She was a homemaker.

She attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport, Md.

She was a military wife and traveled all over the world.

She enjoyed playing bridge and played it well.

Survivors include daughter Penny McDougal of Williamsport, Md.; daughter Ellie Weider of Hope, Maine; and son Leo S. Matkins of Wilmington, Del.

She was an outstanding grandmother. She had five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by numerous siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 32 E. Potomac St., Williamsport, on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Father Stephen Hook as celebrant.

Graveside services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa., on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Free Clinic of Washington County, 249 Mill St., Hagerstown MD 21740.
