Happy holidays

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a very happy and safe New Year.

TOPS 0077

Losses for the week were 31 3/4 pounds for TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077.

The best TOPS losers were Kathy Freese, Debbie Hardin and Carol LeClaire. The best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Dottie Zimmerman and Joan Gilbert.

Freese won the get-r-done prize, while Patsy Price took the Ha-Ha prize. The no-no snack for the week is snack crackers.

The meeting consisted of awards-day presentations followed by the annual Christmas party.

For the month of November, 81 members weighed in and 37 had perfect attendance. Honored KOPS were Louise Cline and Rose Shockey. Honored TOPS were Donna Blackowitz, Peggy Robinson, Cheryl Bowen, Louise Horst and Terri Hendricks. Hendricks had perfect attendance with no gains.

Bowen and Rita McPherson are halfway to their goals. Charles House and Kenny Norris lost 10 pounds each and Bonnie McMillian has lost 50 pounds. Shining stars for the month were Joan Jones and Rosemary Gill.

The three-week holiday weight-loss challenge begins today.

Elsie Horst will lead the January contest titled "Hang On."

TOPS 0446

Despite the busy holiday season, 14 members attended Wednesday's TOPS 0446 meeting. Jeanne R. received the week's thinner-winner prize with a loss of three pounds. Joyce C. won the Ha-Ha prize. Mary announced that the "X" team won the chapter's tic-tac-toe contest.

Cynthia presented awards to several members. Linda K., Betty Jo, Joann P. and Elise were recognized as KOPS in good standing for six weeks. Marie and Judy H. received awards for 12 weeks of perfect attendance, and Mary was honored for being the thinner winner runner-up for October and November.

November thinner winner honors went to Joyce C., who received awards for having no gains in November, for presenting two programs and for having 12 weeks of perfect attendance.

Carolyn earned a birthday award. The chapter chose Cynthia to receive the shining star recognition for November.

A Christmas singalong is on the agenda for Wednesday's meeting.
