Merry Christmas

Christmas dinner

LifeHouse Church Bethel, at 515 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown, will hold a Christmas dinner Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There is no cost for the dinner and it's open to the public. Take-out meals also will be available.

Museum to hold fundraiser

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts has launched its 2011 annual raffle fundraiser.

Eleven prizes will be awarded at a drawing Sunday, Jan. 30, during the Etchison reception.

Tickets cost $10 for one, $25 for three, $40 for five and $75 for 10. Tickets are available through the museum's website at, at the museum during public viewing hours and by calling 301-739-5727.

All proceeds benefit the museum's programs and activities.

Raffle prizes include: R. Bruce Carson Jewelers: $5,000 shopping spree; Philip Koch: oil painting "Beneath the Pine" valued at $3,800; Cape Cod vacation: one week at Rooster Cottage valued at $1,200; Robert E. Parilla Center for the Performing Arts: two tickets to three Guest Series Performances valued at $210; Bavarian Inn: Sunday brunch for four valued at $100; Spichers Appliances: gift certificate valued at $100; Garden Smiths: personal landscape consultation valued at $100; Bast of Boonsboro: $100 gift certificate; Taj India restaurant: $75 gift certificate; Panera Bread: certificate: bread for a year valued at $54; Nick's Airport Inn: $50 gift certificate.

Commission on Aging

The Washington County Commission on Aging will be closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3. The agency will reopen Jan. 4.
