Shopping deadline

Only a few shopping days left until Christmas. I hope everyone has a merry one.

Senior site

The senior site in Clear Spring will be closed Dec. 24 to 27, and will reopen Dec. 28. It will also be closed Dec. 31 to Jan. 3, and reopen Jan. 4, in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day.

Christmas Eve service

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, at 22 Cumberland St. in Clear Spring, will hold a Christmas Eve service on Friday at 7 p.m. The celebration of the nativity of the Lord will include the setting of the creche in the church and the lighting of the Christmas tree. The sermon topic, "What do we want this child to be?" will be preached by the Rev. Steven L. McCarty. All are welcome.

Last Man's Club

The Last Man's Club of Post 222 is opening another division. Any Legion member who has served in Grenada, Desert Storm, Iraq or Afghanistan is eligible for membership. The initiation fee is $1. Deadline to join is June 30, 2011. The club is dedicated to honoring veterans who have gone to "The Post Beyond." Contact Post 222 or E. Hawbaker at 301-667-2532.
